I don’t think you can be a blogger without knowing SEO. I don’t think you can get the most from Twitter posts and LI and FB updates without knowing SEO.

If you’re generating content in any way, you need to know SEO.

Always fascinating to hear that a client, evidently wanting to use the best resource, doesn’t want to pay for the value that resource brings. Don’t think we can emphasize enough your whole “beginning copywriter” versus “junior copywriter” etc. value discussion. Perhaps we should put a QR code on our business card that links to those articles? :-)

Hello!

Great to hear from you! :)

Your answer: it depends. By definition, there is certainly more work involved (keyphrase research, creating Titles and descriptions.) Plus, SEO copywriting provides the client a LOT of value – that is, if you *aren’t* writing for search engines, the page may not even be found in the engines.

I would say anywhere from 25-75% more…which I know is a huge range….I would say test some rates and see what the market will bear.

Hope this helps!

Thank you! You’re so right – there is a balance between the two. Doing everything for the engines may seem like the best course of action – but conversions will definitely suffer.

Thanks for your comment! :)

I think the tips on making the content clear and concise is a great tip on how to combine the two.
