This is a great exercise for any copywriter. But for someone with a website it could have another purpose. Even if 3/4 of the writing exercise results in drivel, it could still provide some good material for your web site. I know from my own perspective I neglect my own site. This could help avoid that all the while honing your writing skills.

Everything you said resonates with me–the procrastination, the sweaty palms, etc.–except that I don’t like to write. That said, I do love the results: clearer thinking and publishable articles that help drive business. Shameless plug: I’m ranked high on search engines for #2 for marketing consulting firm and relatively high for business to business marketing and health care marketing.Years ago, I read the Artists’ Way by Julia Cameron who, like you, advocates starting every day with three handwritten pages. I’ve not yet achieved every day–maybe that’s why I still don’t like writing. Although I do love exercising so maybe there’s hope. I appreciate your encouragement that some day, it will become easier and faster! Let’s hope that’s sooner rather than later!
