I especially like the one about doing your research on the interviewee before sending questions. Not only does it help you generate interesting questions and show the interviewee that you care; it also helps you avoid questions that have already been answered.

One thing that’s really helped me secure experts for interviews is mentioning in the pitch that it’ll be 10 questions or less if you plan to make it short. That’s helped me win over busy experts more than once.
