Must have a solid and active GMB page as well.

Christina, FWIW, I’d recommend auditing your efforts and seeing if you’re getting leads/sales from Google+. If not, it’s safe to let it go… :)

I started a google plus account for my business online to try and help with SEO, but it is definitely my least favorite platform to use. I couldn’t exactly put my finger on why I didn’t like it, but you’re right – its because there is a certain “spamminess” that it has. I will continue to use it, though! Gotta make google happy :)

Sometimes, Google+ makes you feels like you’re talking to an empty room… :) We’ll see what our friends at Google has in store for Google+. Who knows? We may prefer it to Facebook a year from now… ;)

I am building my Google+ page because I know it will be beneficial for SEO… I have tried to initiate conversation with other Google+ folks and it is usually in vain. I am hoping it takes root eventually.

And by that definition you’re right. Hadn’t thought of it that way but puts a whole new spin on telling clients why we put them on Google+.

But, well, it is Google and since they are forcing business listings into Google+ I would be negligent if I didn’t encourage my clients to occasionally post something to their circles … though I can barely get my clients to post on Facebook. It is frustrating … TMSM (too much social media!

Too bad too many people are using it as a way to “spam” and create more traffic for their own site. Nevertheless, it is still a useful site to utilize.
