Yes, I would say that it is a trend. It makes sense – companies spend millions of dollars launching their products. If they saddle their product with an “unsearchable” name, it makes it that much harder (and expensive) to successfully market via the search engines. I’m sure we’ll see more businesses adopt the same strategy.

The comment you make about the company doing keyword research before naming a products is particularly interesting.
