I’ve found that the better I know the audience, the better off my content is. With some of the e-mail marketing I do for my business, I’ve been getting 35-40% open rates.

I always stay away from using too technical of jargon for any audience – other elite copywriters I’ve studied have advised even CEOs/technical professionals take your desired action more frequently when you avoid dry, technical language.

Here’s sort of what I do:
– Study posts and other copywriting that I like (on websites such as Dr Bailey’s)
– Pick out the words and language that gave the copy personality and life
– Stick ’em in my swipe file
– Use ’em whenever I can
